salvage spring market

i'm excited about this one...

i'm excited for Spring.

it's been so dreary and dull outside lately...

I can't wait for flowers and sunshine

this is what I've been thinking about as I plan for the next salvage market

it's going to be a fun one... the weather will be fantastic... right...

i've been sewing & painting & crafting  ...
with color & flowers & sweet vintage fabrics

i've been hunting & gathering ...
in musty barns ... and expensive thrift stores!

this sale will be a great mix ...
industrial .. cottage florals .. rustic neutrals  .. granny chic

there will be...

 handmade
pillows .. jewelry  .. wall hangings .. garlands

 vintage
 metal .. wood .. dishes .. garden

repurposed
chalkboard windows .. magnet boards .. stamped metal

I hope you'll mark your calendars ...
gather up your best girlfriends ...
and come to the salvage spring market

word for 2012...

Do you have a word for 2012?

I don't usually make New Year's Resolutions.....

I choose a word that sums up my focus for the year...

A word to keep me on track and to remind me of the direction I want to take this year.

This year my word is...

Last year, my word was ... balance.
I didn't find balance last year, so I'm giving it another shot this year.

What is your word for 2012?

*the 'word for 2012'  bunting flags can be found in my Etsy shop.

the girls... an update

the girls seem to enjoy living here...
** and we enjoy having them **
                                                        chicken pantaloons ... love 'em
they all lay in the nesting boxes ... every time
on a cold morning, they love warm quinoa for breakfast
Scoutie hangs around waiting for her chance to clean up the plate...
hey girls ... is it my turn yet?
                                          they don't mind sharing :)

you can see Scoutie in the background... cleanin' up

                                Amigo...she's the snuggler
...she's always ready to jump on your back if you bend over

when the weather changed in the fall,
the girls slowed their laying quite a bit.
A few didn't lay at all for 3 weeks.

as soon as it starts getting dark ...
the girls all head to their coop and put themselves to bed
                                        .
I was worried about them being too cold at night...
so we insulated the coop and added a red heat lamp...
the light from the heat lamp
must have been enough to get their laying back on track...

we have 7 chickens and are getting 5-7 eggs every day.

Keep up the good work girls!

On another note ... I am working on getting my Etsy shop
                                                                                           'salvage eighteen'
                                                                                                                    open soon.
When my salvage facebook page reaches 100 'likes'...
I will be giving away $50 for the Etsy shop.
