crafty goodness...

the ladies put on their spiffy painting caps yesterday...
and joined me for a fun evening of sign painting...

it was a perfect, warm summer night...

 with chilled lemonade...
 yummy treats...

  and creative ladies workin' hard...

It was really fun to see the different ideas they came up with ... the unique styles and personalities coming out  in their signs...
I had a great time... hope you did too! Thanks so much for coming... can't wait for the next one!

peanut butter balls...

Peanut Butter Balls
Ingredients...
1/2 cup softened butter
2 cups creamy peanut butter
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 cups icing sugar
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
2 cups chopped pecans
1 cup icing sugar
2 + cups chocolate chips
2 + Tablespoons shortening
Cream together butter, peanut butter, salt & vanilla...

add 2 cups icing sugar, graham crumbs & pecans...
using a small cookie scoop to measure, roll the mixture into 1 inch balls...
roll each ball in the remaining 1 cup of icing sugar...
set the balls in a single layer on a cookie sheet and refrigerate until firm...
melt the chocolate and shortening in the microwave at 30 sec intervals, stirring in between...
if you are going to dip all the balls, you will need more chocolate and shortening.
using a wooden skewer, dip the balls in the chocolate, and place on a cookie sheet to set.
 chill until hardened...
Store in an airtight container in the fridge. Makes approximately 60 balls.
                                                   ENJOY!!!

thrifty thursday...

When I pile up my thrifty finds for the week, there always seems to be a color scheme that comes through...

I LOVE the colors in this afghan ... it now brightens up my porch swing

it's never intentional... and I don't really notice until I put all my treasures together
lately, I'm drawn to teals, reds, yellows...
wood & metal is a given, but I'm definately loving color.

as usual, Riley claimed the suitcase...
another globe ...  thick wool sweaters for pillows...

I'd say it was a pretty successful thrifting week....
now that the sun is finally shining, hopefully there will be some good                       garage sales this weekend.

Hope you are enjoying your summer!
