thrifty thursday...

I went to quite a few garage sales this week.... my trusty g-sale buddy had something better to do, so I brought in my 'back up'. She must have been bad luck, since we didn't find one.single.thing in 8 stops. Of course, the last sale we hit as an after thought on the way home was the best one.  I wish I had gone there first because by the time I got there, it had been open for 3 hours and was pretty picked over.

I found an old basket, metal strainer, covered butter dish, ironstone platter & cup, an old jar...

  this great leather bag...

and an old atlas with gorgeous colors perfect for framing and craft projects...

At my favorite junk store, I nabbed an awesome globe, a cableknit sweater (for pillows), a red produce basket and 2 large metal baskets...

this one's a keeper...

at my favorite thrift store... an ugly, but sturdy little footstool that will be getting a pretty makeover, a red wool blanket (Christmas stockings & pillows), a perfect autumn tablecloth and old leather belts that will be cuffs in the future.

 as soon as I put the stool down, Riley claimed it as his own...

Since my Spring Market is over...when I am shopping, I am thinking ahead to Autumn & Christmas.

The way the weather has been lately, it's not hard to be thinking 'Fall' ... it sure feels like it is!
